I did my research and I have called several web hosting companies before I signed up for my first web hosting, and FatCow looked like the best option for me.
I highly recommend everyone do their due diligence and actually call the webhost just to test how long they take to answer your call, and second, to see if you can understand what they are saying to you. Should you have a serious problem, the LAST thing you need is a heavy accent India agent who you can barely understand.
When I test-called FatCow, my call was answered immediately by a support agent in Phoenix, Arizona. I was surprised by the speed of the answer and by the fact that it’s a domestic support center. For $3.67 a month? How the heck is FatCow using north american support? I don't know, but I love it.
Then the agent explained the features FatCow provides, the prices and walked me through the sign up process via their online ordering. Later I've called them up few times to get help to set up my web site and each time they’ve been patient with me and extremely helpful. Great company and I would recommend it to anyone anytime.
